The former Slovenian Prime Minister called on his fellow countrymen to arm themselves
Janez Janša, a former ally of the Hungarian Prime Minister, has called on the Slovenian people to arm themselves, discussing the introduction of border controls at the Slovenian border and the migrant crisis in general. He believes that the recent incursion of Palestinian terrorists into Israel reaffirmed the importance of people being armed.

„Vrag je vzel šalo”
Janša began his lengthy X-platform post with this saying from the South Slavic region, which translates literally to „the devil took the joke.” The message is that people should take what is happening seriously.
In the headline, the former Slovenian Prime Minister – who was one of the leading figures in the Slovenian confrontation with the former Yugoslavia in the nineties – called on the Slovenians to arm themselves and emphasized that it should be done legally.
Janša thanked everyone at the beginning of the post for spreading this news, even those who do so unintentionally.
He alluded to the radicalized media personalities who called for or supported illegal actions during the COVID times but are now horrified when someone warns of danger in a timely manner and calls for legal actions.
According to Janša, the wise understand the call, and the smart and responsible will heed it. He suggested that others can rely on Prime Minister Robert Golob, Interior Minister Boštjan Poklukar, and Defense Minister Marjan Šarec, or even Jaša Jenull, the president of the People’s Voice initiative, or the participants in the LGBTQ+ pride parade, to protect Slovenia and everyone personally in the event of a terrorist attack.
The former Slovenian Prime Minister compared the current situation to 1991 when many believed that the authorities at the time could defend Slovenia against the aggression of the Yugoslav People’s Army.
The National Security Council is not convening
Janša criticized the current government members for ignoring calls by his Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) to convene the National Security Council since June to discuss measures to curb illegal migration and manage security risks.
– They tore down the fence, so now they are panic-driven to reintroduce border controls towards neighboring countries, shifting illegal migration from main roads to dirt roads
– Janša wrote on the X-platform. He believed that even his successor admitted that reinstating border controls in this manner achieves nothing.
The former Slovenian Prime Minister also reminded that the current Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob recently stated that the only solution to the problem of illegal migration is to raise it to a legal level!!!! According to Janša, the migrants interpreted this similarly to Angela Merkel’s statement in 2015 that migrants are welcome in Germany.
He also responded to the statement of the former prime minister, who is currently in politics from the opposition, by the minister of the interior, Boštjan Poklukar, that the Slovenian police proved its capability by processing the cases of more than forty thousand illegal migrants this year during the asylum procedures in Slovenia!!!???
– Without hindrance, but with permission!!!
– Janša noted, he also commented on Marjan Šarec, the current Minister of Defense and another former Prime Minister, leading his department like a reality show and criticized the current government for generously funding civilians who recently called for the destruction of the state of Israel and threatened a „holy” war against the „unbelievers” during a protest in Ljubljana.
What is the police’s role?
– We believe that Slovenian police should be preventing illegal migration rather than acting as taxi drivers directing illegal migrants to reception centers
– Janša said. In support of this statement, he attached an apt African proverb, „An army of lions led by an elephant can defeat an army of elephants led by a lion.” The interpretation is left to the readers.
Janša also pointed out that the Palestinian terrorists were once extensively trained in the former Yugoslavia, now part of Serbia. He argued that their intrusion into Israel had once again underscored the importance of people being well-armed in a legal and orderly manner. He cited instances where armed residents of kibbutzim successfully prevented even greater carnage of women and children.
In this regard, the former Prime Minister of Slovenia noted – probably not for the first time – that the world has changed in the last decade, to which he added that the situation in the Euro-Atlantic region has mostly worsened.
– The foundations of Western civilization have been severely undermined from within. Physically, Moscow once again threatens our eastern neighbors with impunity
– noted the Slovenian Prime Minister. He added that mass illegal migration is radically disrupting the way of life established in the EU and reinforcing militant proto-terrorist cells throughout European metropolises, leading to an unprecedented increase in crime in once-safe and flourishing cities, and he believes that Ljubljana is no exception to this.
Janša also pointed out that the Palestinian terrorists were once extensively trained in Pančevó in the former Yugoslavia, now part of Serbia.
He argued that their intrusion into Israel had once again underscored the importance of people being well-armed in a legal and orderly manner. He cited instances where armed residents of kibbutzim successfully prevented even greater carnage of women and children.
Arm yourselves!
It is human nature to hope for the best and ignore ominous signs of impending threats. Janša noted that in a January 1991 opinion poll, only 15% of respondents believed that the Yugoslav People’s Army would intervene with armed force after the proclamation of an independent Slovenian state.
The former Slovenian Prime Minister – who was an active participant in the events of that time – reminded that the then-leftist leaders initiated a petition against the formation of the Slovenian army, even though all signs indicated that the Yugoslav People’s Army would attack Slovenia and that the creation of a Slovenian army was necessary to fulfill the popular will expressed in the independence referendum.
Janša concluded his article posted on the X-platform by saying that today, at least three things are clear to the literate:
1. that we can expect the escalation of the security situation,
2. that the current authorities are far from being capable of assessing, preparing, and acting in time,
3. that everyone has the right and duty, within the framework of the constitutional order, to do everything to protect their family and their country.
Therefore: the devil took the joke. Arm yourselves! – the former Slovenian Prime Minister concluded the article.
