The Serbian president has once again couped Sunday, as he is gradually making a habit of holding Sunday morning national press briefings or television interviews. The blow was even greater this time, as alongside Aleksandar Vučić, Ivica Dačić, the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, appeared on the morning show of Pink Television, further exacerbating the situation with the channel’s foolish and conceited host.

Foreign intelligence services and the Russian coup

Following a brief weather report, the Serbian president stated that Serbia is a serious state and therefore does not support any coup, meaning an armed or military-induced overturning, in any country.

Aleksandar Vučić stated that the coup was not supported in Turkey and Russia, but it would not be supported in the United States or any other country either.

The Serbian president reiterated his frequently repeated stance on the domestic situation in Serbia, stating that the change of government occurs through elections by clear expression of the popular will.

While the Serbian president made these statements, in the background on the two screens, there was a display of two „democratically elected” leaders, Vladimir Putin of Russia and Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, embracing each other.

Vučić expressed that the events in Russia leave their mark on the situation on the Ukrainian front, as well as on the internal political processes in Russia. According to his opinion, both locations are expected to have profound and serious consequences.

At the end of a complex historical discussion dating back to World War I, the Serbian president concluded that foreign intelligence services are behind the events in Russia, suggesting that the repetition of events from a hundred years ago posed a threat on June 25, yesterday.

– As the President of the Republic, I naturally do not want to discuss who was involved from the outside, but let there be no doubts about this

said the Serbian head of state, recalling the words of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Group, that there were no real motives for the invasion of Ukraine and that the war was actually unnecessary.

Further historical analogy

According to the Serbian president, even more dangerous developments were successfully prevented thanks to President Putin’s strong actions, but following the events, the Russian Ministry of Defense found itself in a difficult position because if it fails to show results, many will say that Prigozhin was right.

– Putin has an especially tough task ahead because he needs to increase motivation within the army, which applies to disillusioned members of the Wagner Group as well

stated the Serbian president, who referred to it as a massive mistake that the Russian state granted such influence to the Wagner Group, providing them with three thousand tanks, ten aircraft, and one hundred and fifty helicopters.

Vučić believes that the responsibility for defense and security tasks lies with the state, and it cannot let go of that. In this regard, he mentioned that the former Yugoslavia, including Serbia, made the same mistakes in the 1990s.

While the Serbian president did not want to answer the question of how the events in Russia might impact Serbia, the Bosnian Serb Republic, and Kosovo, he did mention that when evaluating the question, one must shed the „fan mentality.”

In connection with this, he posed the question of how Serbia could survive when Russia is at war, China – although a wonderful friend of Serbia – is far away, and, anyway, they are patient and playing the long game.

According to Vučić, under such circumstances, Serbia’s survival would not be assured if the country were to engage in daily battles with the „collective West.” He added that in his opinion, the Americans do not wish ill upon Serbia; they strive for better relations with the country compared to the 1990s. The only problem is that the USA does not intend to change its position regarding Kosovo.

In a later part of the interview, the Serbian president urged the country’s population to give the Serbian leadership a chance to maintain good relations with the European Union and the United States, in addition to the East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, because otherwise, Serbia cannot survive.
